Robert A. Karney and his wife Ginger live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Robert has been a resident of Charlotte for over thirty years. He has been blessed with two children. His son a recent graduate of Washington and Lee University is currently employed as a marketing executive for NASCAR Nation. His daughter is a Junior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Robert's wife, an advertising specialist and homemaker, tends to their personal lives and their Wheaton Terrier, Riley, giving Robert more time to devote to his clients and law practice.

Robert was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His father a local contractor put him to work at a young age believing that hard work and responsibility are important lessons for children to learn. After earning his way through college at Mercer University in Macon Georgia, working construction and various other jobs Robert then entered Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, graduating in May 1975. He began his legal career in September 1975 working with two, then prominent Charlotte criminal attorneys handling their personal injury cases. In the first month of his practice, he was given over sixty personal injury cases by those attorneys.... cases which had been given little or no attention for several months. After many early mornings and late nights he successfully concluded those cases and realized his passion was to help people recover from catastrophic accidents. In 1979 he then opened his own law firm specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice, which continues to the present. Throughout his years of practice he has employed and trained some of the most prominent attorneys in Charlotte such as Michael A. DeMayo, Clair Campbell, Jason Taylor, Michael D. Smith among others.

In his over 30 years of practice, Robert has represented clients against major trucking companies, the Ford Motor Company, Bell South, Pepsi Cola Bottling Corp., the State of North Carolina, manufacturers in the health care industry, negligent physicians/hospitals, nursing homes, and virtually every insurance company throughout the country. Although he resides in North Carolina, his representation of clients stretches as far west as California, as far south as Key Largo, Florida (the Florida Keys), and as far north as New York City, New York.

At the present time, Robert is personally accepting cases with catastrophic, serious and permanent injuries. These cases involve truck/big rig accidents, hospital malpractice, nursing home negligence, motorcycle accidents, serious automobile accidents, traumatic brain injuries and wrongful death.
